Timer Link Help

The Timer Link will start the next timer automatically when the timer ends (or at the end of the alarm depending on the Settings). It's possible to link timers across groups. It's also possible to link a group to start all the timers in the linked group.
Note: All timer links are in one direction. The link destination timer will start when the link source timer ends. Not vice versa.
If the timer repeat count of the link source is more than one, the link destination timer will start after all the repeats are completed.

How to Link Timers To link timers, select "Timer Link" from "More Options" on the Timer Creation/ Modify dialog. Or select "Link" from each timer's menu.
There are the following link types. Other than the link type Select Timer, all other link types are dynamic links (except Select Group). The actual destination timer will be decided when the link source timer expires.

For example, if the link type is Next Timer, the timer right blow the link source timer will start when the link source timer expires.

Whereas Select Timer link type is a static link and the link destination timer is fixed when it's selected. The difference between dynamic and static link behaviors is explained below.

Suppose there are "Timer 1", "Timer 2" and "Timer 3" are lined up from the top in that order.

In case of the dynamic link
First, link the timers to start sequentially from the top as follows.
  1. Open the Timer Menu of "Timer 1" and select "Link".
  2. Select "Next Timer".
  3. Open the Timer Menu of "Timer 2" and select "Link".
  4. Select "Next Timer".
By this way, "Timer 1" to "Timer 3" will start sequentially
Then let's swap the location of "Timer 2" and "Timer 3".

When "Timer 1" expires in this state, the timer starts next is not "Timer 2" but "Timer 3" that is located right below "Timer 1". As "Timer 3" is not linked anywhere, nothing will be started when "Timer 3" expires.

This is the dynamic link.

In case of the static link
First, link the timers to start sequentially from the top as follows.
  1. Open the Timer Menu of "Timer 1" and select "Link".
  2. Select "Select Timer" then select "Timer 2".
  3. Open the Timer Menu of "Timer 2" and select "Link".
  4. Select "Select Timer" then select "Timer 3".
By this way, "Timer 1" to "Timer 3" will start sequentially.
Then let's swap the location of "Timer 2" and "Timer 3" as same as the dynamic link example.

When "Timer 1" expires in this state, the timer starts next is "Timer 2" because the link destination is fixed. Then "Timer 3" will start when "Timer 2" expires.

This is the static link. Changing the order of timers won't change the order of the timer executions.

Link timer across groups The timer in a different group can be linked as follows.
  1. As same as the normal timer link, select "Timer Link" from "More Options" on the Timer Creation/ Modify dialog or select "Link" from each timer's Menu.
  2. Select "Select Timer".
  3. Click "SELECT FROM ALL GROUPS" button.
  4. Click the group, which has the timer you want to link.
  5. All the timers in the group will be displayed, then select the timer to link.

Group Link As a link destination, it's possible to link a time group and whole timers in the destination group will start automatically when the source timer expires.
  1. As same as the normal timer link, select "Timer Link" from "More Options" on the Timer Creation/ Modify dialog or select "Link" from each timer's Menu.
  2. Select "Select Group".
  3. Select the group you want to link.

Change Link Timing You can select whether to start the link destination timer when the link source timer expires, or when the alarm ends as follows.
  1. On the Timer Creation/ Modify dialog, click "More Options"
  2. Select the desired "Link Timing" and confirm.
The default "Link Timing" is starting the destination timer when the source timer expires.
You can change the default by the following option.

Settings > Timer Dialog Settings > Default Link Timing

Delete All Timer Links To delete all the timer links in each group, Select "Link Utilities" > "Remove All Links" from the App Menu.

What is "Link Trigger Limit Count" ? You can set "Link Triger Limit Count" on each timer. This number limits the number of times the link source timer to run the link destination timer.
The link trigger count of each timer is incremented every time when the link is triggered. Once the link trigger count reaches "Link Trigger Limit Count", the link can't be triggered till the trigger count is reset.
With this feature, it's possible to run the set of linked timers for specific number of times.
Please refer to Run linked timers for the specified number of times for more details of how to run the set of liked timers.

Note) The default value of "Link Trigger Limit Count" is "No Limit".

You can show the link trigger limit count and the current link trigger count of each timer by the following option.

Settings > Display Settings > Show/ Hide Buttons and etc Settings > Show Link Trigger Count

The trigger counts will be shown only if the timer is linked to other timers and the link trigger limit is set.

Run linked timers for the specific number of times It's possible to do that with Limit Run Count feature.

Example) How to run Timer A, B and C in that order three times.
  1. Link Timer A > B > C first.
  2. Then Link Timer C to A to create a link loop.
  3. Edit Timer C and set "Link Trigger Limit Count" in "More Options" to 2 (not 3 but 2) on Timer Edit Dialog.
  4. Start Timer A
By this way, Timer A, B and C will run in that order for three times.
The value to be entered to "Link Trigger Limit Count" should be "Number of timers you wish to run the link set minus one". In case of this example, 2 should be entered.

If it's only with Step 1 and 2, the link set of A, B, and C will loop forever. But by setting "Link Trigger Limit Count" to 2 at Step 3, the link trigger from Timer C to A is limited to two times. As a result, the link set will stop after it's executed for three times.

In case you need to link lots of timers, it's easier to use Link Creation Utility

How to use "Link Creation Utility" This utility automatically creates links and do necessary settings to run the timers from top to bottom in the current group for the specified number of times. This is how to use the utility.
  1. Select the group you wish to link the timers of.
  2. Select "Link Utilities" > "Link Creation Utility" from App Menu.
  3. On the "Link Creation Utility" dialog, enter the number you wish to run the link set to "Link Set Run Count" and click "Run Utility".
Once it's done, starting the top timer invokes the link run and the timers in the group will run from top to bottom sequentially for the specified number of times.
Note) Please pay attention to the following points when using the utility. In case you are interested in, the following steps are done internally by Link Creation Utility.
  1. Link timers in the current group from top to bottom (by "Select Timer" link).
  2. Link the bottom timer to the top timer (by "First Timer" link)
  3. Set "Link Trigger Limit Count" of the bottom timer to the number specified at "Link Set Run Count minus 1".
If "Link Set Run Count" is 1, only Step 1 will be executed.
Of course you can link timers manually in the same way, but it's easier to use this utility in case you have too many timers to link.

How to link timers from top to bottom at once Run Link Creation Utility with "Link Set Run Count" 1.
The timers in the current group will be linked automatically from top to bottom.
